I have over 17 years of experience as a professional painter and was trained by Southern Alberta’s best. I also worked in other trades, renovated several houses, have a business management degree, and have ventured into other businesses such as real estate. My wife Vicky even designed our current home with me as the general contractor.
After hearing from homeowners how frustrating it was to get good trades, I considered getting back into the painting business. This led to the start of my business six years ago, first concentrating on paint and design and expanding to offer epoxy and specialty flooring this year.
When I started, I had just one old van and worked out of my home and garage. Today, we have three vehicles, a shop and office, and a team of fifteen fantastic employees, with eight being full-time.
The most enjoyable part of my work is taking on home repaints and renovations. It’s fun to see the transformation that occurs when taking a home from an old, drab, out-of-style look to a fresh, clean, and modern one. It’s also gratifying to be able to see the home owner’s reaction to the finished product. My business philosophy is to provide the best service and product possible, with the knowledge that success will follow.
As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others is I treat others with respect and appreciation. That includes those I work with and our clients. Similarly, good, clear communication helps to make jobs go smoother.
I attribute my success to my continual pursuit of greatness. I also believe in quality work for a reasonable price, and this has won us many loyal customers.
Seeing a smile on pretty much every client we work with has given me immense satisfaction over the years.
When I am not at work, I enjoy sports and have coached my kids as they grew up. I have also reffed basketball for twenty-five years at a high school and college level and coached high school basketball for the past three years. When time permits, I also love going out dancing with my amazing wife.
Additionally, I believe in giving back to society, and as part of that belief, I am very active in my church and served on a board of directors at Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
